Maple Valley has experienced a rapid population growth in the past several
years. The current population is over 17,000 with a likely build-out population
projected to be 24,500. Approximately 33% of Maple Valley's population is made
up of youth under the age of 17.
Approximately 75% of Maple Valley residents are college graduates. The median
household income is $74,781.
As of the census of 2000, there are 14,209 people, 4,809 households, and 3,952 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,010.3/km² . There are 4,922 housing units at an average density of 350.0/km². The racial makeup of the city is 90.62% White, 1.11% African American, 0.66% Native American, 2.46% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, 1.36% from other races, and 3.64% from two or more races. 3.56% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
